Another bend in the road...

When I graduated from college, a future of endless possibilities stretched ahead of me. I did not, however, foresee a career as an author. That shouldn't surprise anyone. Truth be told, I have a lousy track record as a fortuneteller. I'm usually the last to guess where life will take me, and most (if not all) of life's twist and turns have blind-sided me. I like to think that's half the fun.

Even if I didn't expect to become an author, I prepared for it well. I learned to write in high school (both true journalism with the 4 W's and the H and creative writing), and along the way, I grew skilled at graphic arts and web design. As a physician, I observed human nature and saw firsthand the variety of ways we humans handle crises, big and small, and as a mother, my patience was tested but never beyond my capacity to love the most amazing human being I've ever met.

So, here I am, an author...

When writing became an all-consuming passion, refusing to take a backseat to any of the other demands on my time, I was ready to begin work on THE LEARNER'S PERMIT. Since then, I've finished my THE LEARNER'S PERMIT, completed an MFA with a focus on the Short Story in an unaccredited program through the Writers' Village University, and my second novel, HER FATHER’S CHILD (formerly PRIVATE MESSAGE) is finished. I've had eight short stories published--seven of them are available here, with links on the Publication Credits page.
